Tessa's story

　　3-legged beauty

　　"I was lost on the streets of Tehran. I dont remember what happened to me, but I know I was alone and afraid. Sometime, I dont remember when or how, my leg got very hurt. What I remember next is that a lovely lady found me and took me to the doctor. The doctor tried to fix my leg, but they decided it would be best if they took the painful leg off. The next thing that happened was my friends took me to an amazing place where there were lots of dog friends for me to play with. There was food, love and a warm, comfy place to sleep. I was in heaven! Then if things could get any better, my friends at the shelter decided I was a good candidate to find my forever home in America! One Planet Rescue found a family that would provide a temporary foster home for me, so I was packed up and put on a plane with a kind traveler to America! It was a long trip, but boy was it worth it. I was met at the airport by a whole bunch of nice ladies who fed me, hugged me and talked so nice and sweet to me. I decided it was a great idea to come to America. My foster mom thinks I am the most amazing dog she has ever met. I really love my foster familys home, they have a dog and a lot of cats and kittens. My foster mom also fosters kittens, they are the best. I would be fine in a home that has cats and/or dogs! I am a loyal companion, I love all of my foster sisters and mom. I am still learning to fully trust my foster dad, but I am working on it and have been making a lot of progress. I think with some patience and love I will grow to love anyone who wants to love me. I like to snuggle, give kisses, and play with the kittens and I am completely potty trained. What I really enjoy is going for walks, the fact that Im a tripod doesnt slow me down a bit. People like the way I hop/walk. I am still a bit fearful of things and people that I havent seen or met yet, but I am learning to trust my people to keep me safe. "

　　Tessa is a female, spayed, approx 4 Years old tripod dog who loves positive reinforcement training, learns fast, and is so full of life. She is shy towards men initially and may even bark if she feels cornered, but with the right approach she warms up to them and even solicits attention. Tessa will do well in a home where her family enjoys taking her on strolls in the neighborhood, play-dates with friendly dogs, and spending time teaching her new things and socializing her to the world out there.
