Sweet and shy, that is Adam, a four year old male Terrier/Chihuahua mix. Adam has a very nice reddish brown and white coat that is a little longer than normal for a terrier. He is small, weighing 10 pounds and that is full grown. Adam was pulled from our local animal shelter where he had been picked up by Animal Control and brought in along with 13 other dogs from an animal neglect/cruelty case. The owner signed them all over to the shelter and the charges were dropped. Adam and his possible brother, Eric, are from this group. Adam is very shy and timid on first meeting. He wants to be held and loved. He does perk up and gets more playful once he is more comfortable. Adam seems to do well with other dogs, just maybe not right up in his face. He would be fine in an apartment with daily walks. He needs to be an inside dog and cannot be left outside unattended -- always on a leash or in a fenced in yard. Adam may not do as well with young children since he is sort of skittish and so small. He would make a wonderful companion dog and love to be right with you on the couch! We have started Adam on his crate training. He is up to date on his vet care, neutered, microchipped and is heartworm negative. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. This precious little dog will give you years and years of love -- so what are you waiting for??!! Update from Foster Family: Overall Adam is still a little timid so we are working on bringing him out of his shell slowly and in the mean time he is happy as can be if he is in your lap :) He actually moved fast today and chased his ball!!!!! Maybe in another week we can have him to bring the ball back and play with his other toys. Oh also he is great with my girls. He realizes that they are the ones that go play outside and give him snacks so he is REALLY happy when they come home from school. Our adoption fee is $75. Read more information on our website.
