  My story

Teresa: 5 year old, black & rust, spayed female. natural ears & tail, 12" & 14 lbs. Shots up-to-date & Micro-chipped. Rescued from shelter."Hi, my foster mom named me Teresa (after Mother Teresa). My story starts in the San Diego Area of Southern California. I somehow lost my home and was forced to wander the streets looking for food to eat and safe places for myself and my 4 very young pups to hide. A big imposing man from the animal shelter chased me and my babies down and took us to an even scarier shelter where were lots of dogs. It was really loud in there and some of the dogs were sick. I was so afraid I couldn't protect myself and my babies and how was I supposed to keep them from getting sick in there? The people who were taking care of me and my babies were a little afraid of me because I was taking good care of my pups and did not want them near us. I never tried to bit them, but I did growl and try to look really mean. I'm a really sweet girl and I'm not vicious, but I was pretty scared for my little family and I didn't know what else to do.One day a nice lady came to the shelter and said that we were going to a Rescue and my family was getting a foster home. I didn't know what that was, but I was willing to try it.We ended up in a temporary foster home. That place had lots of dogs, and as long as they stayed away from my pups, we became instantly great friends. My temporary foster mom said I was sweet, loving and lots of fun. I never once growled at her or tried to look mean because I knew we were safe and I didn't have to worry so much. I let her play with my babies too. After a week or so we got moved again to a permanent home.My permanent foster home was. After a few weeks, I weaned my babies. They are still in their foster home and will be ready for adoption soon, but I'm back at my first foster home.I really love being a mother, but at age 5 I'm getting a little old for so many pups. My foster mom got me spayed. It was a little painful, but my foster mom takes me to work with her and I stay under her desk where I can rest. I'm loving being with my human all the time and her co-workers are really nice. I like all of them and they give me treats! I love treats! I'm healing up really well and am ready for a home of my own with a family that will take really good care of me and give me lots of love.My foster mom says I'm a curious girl who loves to be in the center of the action. I need to know first hand what is going on at all times. Sometimes the other dogs get mad at me because I'm really persistent but we don't fight because I don't do that. I just go away and let them calm down. I love cuddling with my humans and I love being where I can see them. I have to know what they are doing all the time too. Who knows... I might be able to help with something, and it is my job to keep them safe too.I'm crate trained and I'll walk on a leash, but I get excited and pull sometimes. My foster mom says we are working on that. I'll take care of my business outside if my foster mom stays out there with me, or takes me for a walk. I don't tear things up and I don't dig or bark all the time. That stuff is for younger dogs who have now grown up yet.My foster mom promised to let me know when you are coming to meet me. I can't wait to get a permanent family of my own! I'll be waiting to hear from you and wagging my tail all the way to the meet-and-greet!Love, Teresa"For more photos of Teresa, please see:Teresa's Photo AlbumNOTE: Teresa is located in Springville, CA and we will only fly her in cabin with Adopter.IMPS Tag: 30634ADD DATE: 12/29/19If you wish to adopt, please fill out our IMPS Min Pin Adoption ApplicationIf you have previously submitted an Application form, there is no need to re-apply.For more details, contact Gail: [email protected] is a non-profit rescue organization that does not have a viewing facility to which you can come and meet the dogs available for adoption.
