Meet Tamara! A loving 8yr.old 8lb. terrier-chihuahua mix. She is the sweetest little cuddle bug! who loves to snuggle under blankets with you and gets especially excited anytime there is food involved. She stands on her hind legs when she's gets excited and loves to greet you when you get home. She is potty trained with a doggie door but does tend to piddle in the house every once in awhile. She gets along very well with my other senior dog but does like to bark at other dogs from the front door. She loves to be around people! The perfect home for her, would be in a home with a family who can give her plenty of love and affection.
Tamara is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines. Tamara came to us with multiple mammary masses *(adopter should monitor for regrowth) and a heart condition. She underwent surgery for the masses to be removed & had a dental cleaning with an extraction at the same time. She also had an echocardiogram & saw a cardiologist and is on long term medication to maintain her condition. Her adoption fee is $150 which helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. If you think you would like to meet Tamara please fill out an application online for pre-approval to help streamline the adoption process.
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.
Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
