　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. 　　or [email removed] if you're interested in becoming a foster home for this cat! This famous guy is Pokie, a male orange and white tabby at 7 years, 4 months old (as of 1/14). He is a gentle guy who loves affection, but sometimes doesn't like to be held. He's used to being around other cats, and would do better with a more submissive and docile cat. He could also tolerate dogs, but he'd like a little time to adjust before a dog is introduced, since we've never had him around dogs. He's a bit cautious and bashful. He's not skittish but maybe a little cautious with a new person, but will warm up to someone as he gets used to them. Pokie is competing for attention and affection in our adoption center, and would do wonderfully in a less competitive atmosphere. He'll most definitely open up once he's in his forever home. Pokie is a very confident guy and can be a little conceited - sometimes he likes to strut his stuff to show other cats who he is! He's really hilarious, because sometimes the unimpressed female cats will knock him down a peg or two with a swift swat of their paw!! He does get picked on a little, which could result in his initial shyness. But when he gets his very own family, everything will get sweeter. Negative for FIV/ FeLK and current on vaccinations and neutered. Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters.
