　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments. To adopt, we need to receive an application (link to the online version found below). Please meet our beautiful Penny, named for her pretty copper orange tabby coat! She's vet-estimated to be between 2 and 3 years (as of 2013). Penny and her two kittens were rescued by a good Samaritan who fostered them until Penny weaned her kittens. Penny is very friendly with a gentle, mild-mannered disposition. She loves human companionship! She's the perfect low-key companion cat. She loves sunbathing in the windows or curling up in a cozy kitty bed. She's happy to see us every day! Penny could adjust to another cat in the household, but she'd be perfectly happy as an only cat, too. She might do well around a small dog. Penny will be waiting for you to meet her at our cat adoption center, so don't keep her waiting any longer! Negative for FIV/ FeLK and current on vaccinations and spayed. Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.).
