　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　This beautiful tabby lady is Veronica, a gray and white tabby with interesting streaks of brown markings. She is even more gorgeous in person! Veronica is a young "teenage" girl between 1 and 3 years of age. Poor Veronica had not been found in great condition, along with two kittens. A rescuer/possibly the former owner took them to a vet clinic, and abandoned them, never returning for them or answering phone calls.

　　Despite Veronica's predicament, she was so happy to meet new people! Veronica was friendly from the moment we met her! She's laid-back and polite, a calm and low-energy girl. She does well with other cats and kittens. She's gentle, so we believe she would do well with gentle children. She seems to be able to adjust easily, as long as she receives love and patience. Veronica would do well as a companion pet or as a new member of a multi-cat home. We aren't sure how well she'd handle dogs. Veronica has experienced a rough start in life, but we're hoping we can find her a much more stable forever home, where she'll be able to live a carefree life without worries! 　　Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.).
