　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

During November & December 2012, we've waived adoption fees for adult cats 1 year and older and reduced younger cats' fees to only $40! Make a cat's Christmas wish come true!

　　This teeny tiny little lady is Lovums, a beautiful gray tabby baby girl! Lovums is a tiny girl at barely 10 weeks old (10/8/12). Lovums is a little clown! She loves to cuddle, and loves to play!! She's looking for a home without dogs. She is very small and fragile, and needs a safe home with gentle handling. At this age, such small kittens are very dependent on their caretakers to be gentle and calm with them and to keep them safe. They also need plenty of time with their families, so students or 9-to-5 families should reconsider kittens who are a little bit older who would do better in that situation. 　　Negative for FIV and FeLK and current on kitten vaccinations. The final set (consisting of Rabies and Feline Leukemia boosters) is due three weeks from the date of the previous set.

　　*Oct. 8th: Lovums is now one week away from completing her annual vaccinations.

　　Since Lovums is too young to be spayed, an additional $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption to reinforce state law for all shelter animals to be fixed before or after adoption. The spay/neuter deposit is refunded later upon delivery of proof (a certificate or vet records) that the kitten has been fixed. Pediatric spaying/neutering is an option to discuss with your vet around 4 months of age.

　　Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors or legal dependents. Read up on our adoption process .
