　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments. To adopt, we need to receive an application (link found below). Some pets could be in foster care. This cute man with gorgeous dark brown coloring is Gus, a declawed short-haired gray tabby male between 7-8 years old. Gus was owned by an elderly woman who could no longer give him the care and attention he needed, so he's now with us to seek a new forever home! Gus is an affectionate, polite and mild-mannered guy who'd love to be in another calm, quiet home again. He's low-energy and low-maintenance. As far as we know about him, he has never been around dogs, so it may not be a good idea to try adjusting him to dogs now. He seems to do well around other friendly, low-energy cats like himself. He's an excellent candidate for a companion pet. Stop by our cat adoption center or contact us to meet Gus! Negative for FIV/FeLK, current on vaccinations and neutered. Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.).
