　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　This sweet little baby girl is Sunflower, a female medium-haired brown/grey tabby kitten with hints of light orange. Sunflower is approximately 4 weeks old (as of 6-21-13). When Sunflower was scooped up and rescued, her rescuers noticed she had a slight limp. She didn't seem to be in pain or have balance issues, but it was a little noticeable. When we took her in and had her tiny paw x-rayed, she had only slight damage from a minor fracture that didn't heal properly. But to be on the safe side and to improve moving around for her, we're having two of her toes amputated. It shouldn't affect her balance at all, and after recovery Sunflower will no longer have a limp! She's a sweet little lady who needs a safe and loving home! 　　Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and receive immediate vet care upon intake before being available for adoption. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors or legal dependents. Read up on our adoption process .
