I Want a Home for the Summer!
The Humane Society of West Alabama's "Home for the Summer" campaign aims to adopt out as many adult pets as possible this summer! During the month of June 2013, we've reduced adoption fees for all adult cats 1 year and older! Help us make this their best summer ever - by winning a loving family!

This beautiful lady is Shirley, a very pretty brown and white Tabby. She has gorgeous tiger stripes that make her look more like an exotic cat! Paired with her gorgeous eyes, she really is a beauty! She's approximately 3 or 4 years old, vet-estimated. We didn't know much about poor Shirley except that her last owners made it clear they didn't want her - they dumped her! Shirley was a little shaken up by the incident, but has mellowed out and didn't hesitate to accept our help. She's a very mellow lady, and has been very gentle with us. She's a peaceful girl who would do great in a calmer household. We think she's been doing great around other cats, but we aren't sure how she feels about dogs. We haven't had Shirley around small children, so we aren't sure how well she does around them. We do know she'd rather be handled gently, but she doesn't mind being held. Shirley definitely enjoys comfort from people. Shirley is safe and now looking for a new forever home where she can feel safe and be loved. Stop in at our cat adoption center to meet Shirley!
