Description

  Tabby - Brown - Lucy - Medium - Baby - Female - Cat

The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're an all-volunteer group and need advance notice to schedule appointments. We cannot accept same-day appointments. To adopt, we need to receive a completed application for review (online application found at ). Some animals may be in foster homes. For information on a specific animal, please visit our adoption center or email us at [email removed]! Please meet Lucy, a sweet little "ginger" or tortoiseshell tabby, with dark brown and orange tabby coloring. Gorgeous! She's just a baby at only 12 weeks old (as of 11/5/13). Lucy is a spitfire! Even though she's the only girl in her litter, she has no problem wrestling with the boys or winning over all the toys. She's quite the busybody, and doesn't seem to ever be bored! She loves adventure! When she isn't playing, Lucy loves attention. She's an expert climber, and likes to perch on tall surfaces so she can be closer when she reaches out to paw at someone. Lucy does well with other friendly cats and kittens. Lucy needs a good bit of supervision and bonding time in her young age, so she is not suitable for a home where she's left alone most of the day. She should do well with older kids who can handle her gently, maybe ages 7 and up. We do not recommend Lucy in a home with dogs - she isn't a fan of big or little dogs. Visit our cat adoption center or contact us to meet Lucy and more adoptable cats and kittens! Negative for FIV and FeLK, current on FVRCP vaccinations. Lucy will require her Rabies + FeLK vaccination three weeks after the previous vaccinations. Due to being underage for a spay/neuter surgery, adoption requires an additional refundable spay/neuter deposit to reinforce state requirements for all adopted pets to be fixed by age of maturity. Read our adoption process at /howtoadopt.html for more information. Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Visit to read our adoption process and fill out an online application.
