Description

  SYLVESTER's story

  MEET SYLVESTER!!

  Domestic Short Hair Tuxedo

  White "v" around his nose

  4 white toesies

  White chest and belly

  Approximately 3 years old

Neutered, microchipped, and current on all of his shots

  This is Sylvester...

Sylvester was a friendly stray cat in search of food and attention when he showed up to his current rescuer's home. After a while, he became a regular visitor, patiently waiting outside the front door for food when he was hungry. His people fell more in love with this little guy every day. When the weather got colder, they kept him in their garage at night and let him outside during the day.

However, in the past two weeks, the neighbors in the neighborhood Sylvester wanders around in began to report multiple coyote sightings. Suddenly, Sylvester didnt come home for five days. His people were heartbroken, and prayed that he would return. They made a promise to themselves that if he came back, they would let him be an indoor kitty.

The next day, a miracle happened

hed returned! They scheduled an appointment for Sylvester to be neutered and receive his shots so he could join their other indoor cats. While Sylvester was in recovery, the owners got a devastating call from the vet informing them that he has feline leukemia and could not live with their other cats but also should not live outdoors. He could still live a long life, just not with his current people.

So now, little Sylvester is looking for a loving, forever, only-cat home. His current living situation is only temporary and he will have to return outdoors in a few weeks if another home is not found.

He's extremely affectionate, loves getting his head rubbed, and chirps when he talks to you. I've offered him different toys, but he hasn't been interested in anything so far. He's a very alert cat, so he would probably play with the right toy; I just haven't found one he likes. My guess is that he isn't interested in toys because he is soaking in all the love and petting he's been getting...you know, he's making up for lost time!!

Anyone interested can contact, Dawn at [email protected] to set up a time to visit with him. He might be a little shy initially, but he's very affectionate once he gets to know someone.

  * Many people think that FeLV cats are sick and dying, with no quality of life. NOT TRUE! A positive diagnosis indicates the presence of the virus, it does not indicate that the virus is active and the cat is suffering symptoms. Some cats can live as long as 10-15 years when diagnosed as adults. There are so many factors that can contribute to how long and how well a FeLV+ cat lives. Whatever length their lives end up being, their time here on earth can be joy filled...there are no guarantees in this life (for you, me or FeLV+ cats); keep an open mind when considering adopting a FeLV+ kitty...they are like every other cat; they deserve love, hope, and joy.
