Sweet Pea's story

　　Sweet Pea is a 4 yrs old Beagle/Basset Hound. Her name matches her personality. She can be a little anxious in a new environment; once she gets to know where she is and her people, she gets very attached. . She is now 40 lbs after lots of holiday treats; ideally she weighs 35. She's very social, likes any dog who is playful and silly. She loves to be chased by other dogs, except for herder dogs. She loves dogs her same size or bigger, especially labs. She prefers playing with dogs her age (4) or younger. She likes people, shes cautious around some men, and is curious around children. Sweet Pea would do best with lots of companionship whether it be doggie friends or people. She loves to run with a jogger, loves open space; her favorite off leash trail is Dry Creek in Boulder, CO off Baseline Road. She needs a doggie door, is house trained, unknown whether crate trained, she's up to date on all her shots, takes preventative medicine for heart worms and just had her teeth cleaned. Since shes a hound, she loves smells and will follow scent trails when walking. She knows where all the bunnies in the neighborhood live. She howls rarely and briefly when shes happy. She whines at times which could be handled by setting consistent boundaries. She does not chase balls or chew toys (or anything else for that matter). Shes truly a real sweetheart.
