　　Meet Swanhilda, a 10-year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs about 6lbs. Swanhilda came to the SSPCA with a group of dogs that had been kept in the previous owner's backyard and did not seem to have received a whole lot of attention. Immediately our staff realized that Swanhilda was blind! Naturally this caused Swanhilda to be very frightened in the shelter environment, so she was taken in by a foster home to provide her with an environment in which she can feel safe.

　　In her foster home Swanhilda is doing really well and showing more of her adorable personality each day. She does not let her blindness hinder her much, once familiar with an area she gets around perfectly fine on her own. Swanhilda is social with the dogs in her foster home and enjoys their company. She also does well with cats. She would love to find a forever home in a calm, quiet household with someone who enjoys her companionship. Swanhilda can get startled easily due to being blind, so she would do best in an adult-only household.
