Sunny Rose's story
Well, Miss Sunny Rose is a very special story. She was found in the most horrendous shape in Houston TX. She had been living on the streets for her short little life, beyond miserable. When she was found she was hairless, skin and bones, and in a ton of pain. Sunny's rescuer got her to the vet immediately in hopes that they could get her feeling better right away. It was found that she had severe mange, intestinal parasites, and probably hadn't had a real meal in weeks. Her rescuer cried for her, making it her mission to never let her suffer again.
We watched Ms. Sunny Rose heal over the next month while her hair started to grow back and her ribs were less visible each day. She had made it through the hard part and her future was finally starting to look bright. Once Sunny was healthy and strong enough, she made her way to CO to her loving foster home. Her hair is continuing to grow and she her weight increases each week. We believe she is about 6 months old now and finally ready to find her forever home.
Sunny has come such a long way, and it truly took a village to get her to the healthy, happy place she is in now. We promised her nothing but the best from here on out. That means that her forever family has to be perfect too.
Sunny gets along well with other dogs and cats (there are 5 other dogs in her current foster home). She can be a little bossy right at the beginning of meeting a new dog, but warms up quickly and within minutes wants to be their best friend - instigating play. Sunny knows how to use the doggy door and is pretty much potty trained. She can be left during the day and not have any accidents. She loves to snuggle in bed with her foster mom and the other doggies at night....she now finally knows what a comfy bed feels like, so thats where she wants to be. She loves, loves to snuggle and follow her foster momma around the house, when she isn't too busy playing with all the other dogs.
We want Sunny to have a family who is home most of the time with her, or has a buddy for her to play with. She would be a great adventure buddy for someone and does have a good amount of energy to keep up. We are not too sure how big she will be when full grown, but we are guessing around 40-50lbs.
