Cabin/Accommodation
The hand crafted mahogany interior is comfortable, spacious yet practical. The saloon offers ample seating, a large folding table for 8 people to dine in a relaxed atmosphere whilst still being able to move around the boat. The navigation area absorbs charts and almanacs for any extended cruising with a practical eye level instrument console to house the electronics. Guests retire to their own en-suite cabin forward at the end of a weary day. Owners can relax in the knowledge that they will have a comfortable nights rest. The spacious aft cabin with port and starboard hanging lockers, en suite WC, shower and wet locker allows the owner the privacy and comfort he requires on extended cruises.
Hull & Deck
Hull & deck are hand laid using osmosis resistant resins and isothallic gel coat. The hull design eliminates pounding, whilst ensuring dry decks and enhanced windward performance. As with all Sunbeam yachts the weight is distributed in the centre of the whole boat which makes for a well balanced yacht in all conditions. Non slip teak decks and cockpit with cleats let into the toerail, plus the genoa tracks mounted clear of the main deck give a safe working platform. 60cm high guard rails and gates with graduated aft deck towards the teak bathing platform and folding boarding ladder, all make for safe ease of use. The self stowing anchor is housed in the large chain locker which has the benefit of additional useful stowage space.
Galley
The galley, equipped with 2 burner cooker and oven, 90 litre ice box has ample stowage for supplies and crockery whilst sensibly designed work surfaces, large sink and drainer plus optional microwave all make for gourmet meals and contented crew.
Additional Information
The boat is practically a 40' boat, 5cm missing to accommodate better rates in marinas. Mannfred Schchl's idea, who designed the boat.
The walls inside were made with sandwich technology (quite expensive) - same technology as inside airplanes. The result is exceptional stability on ocean waters, she could withstand equinox storms.
The body of the boat can function as a sail, they tried it in 50 kts wind as well as 2 kts.
The boat likes big winds. During a crossing from Croatia to St-Lucia they measured 14.5 kts speed occasionally, the average was 6.3 kts on 2850 nm distance.
There is no osmosis on the body at all. This is one of the great advantages of a Sunbeam.
The tiller rotates in one pillow/bearing - from the factory it was plastic, which was good, but the current owner changed it to metal, so it's very strong. (cost several thousand euros)
Life raft is original, unused.
Dinghy almost brand new and can be supplied.
The blister sail is almost brand new. Recent radar, from 2009, other electronics from 1997.
The mast, body of the boat, ropes, rigging, and other equipment are in perfect condition.
