Travel back in time with this antique violin. It has a typical Strad copy label on the inside back: Antonius Stradivarius Cremonsis Faciebat 1724. It does say what country it was made in, but I assume Germany. With a 14-1/8" body and 23-1/8" overall length, it's a 4/4 full-size violin. Two piece darkly flamed maple back. Flamed maple sides and neck. Spruce top. Dyed tailpiece. The pegs and nut look to be made of ebony, but am not 100% certain. The pegs and peg holes are in good round. It has an old Becker's chinrest with a chip missing. One fine tuner on the high E string. It has new Red Label strings. It comes with two bows. Both are unmarked. One is very old, in poor condition, and hairless. The other, in the clear plastic bag, is unmarked, is missing one of its frog inlays, and seems to have been freshly haired. The case works, but is quite worn on the outside, with much of the exterior leather having worn off or still wearing off. The case handle, latches, and hinges work. Cosmetically, it has some ordinary age and play wear, notably on the top, but no cracks. Overall, it looks good. It's a fine old Strad copy, ready for its next owner. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 32"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
