My story

　　08/23/22 Stormi came back to the shelter as a stray and defaulted back to borough property. She is now looking again for that new forever home!! When Stormi was here originally her prior owners did not that she was a fence jumper. We would like to remind her new owners that she should never be outside unsupervised and needs to be on a leash or secure tie-out. Stormi is a super sweet, energetic, young pup! It was also previously mentioned that this girl has a higher prey drive and in the past has been known to chase cats. For our smaller critters safety we are requiring that she goes to a home without cats or pocket pets. Stormi seems friendly towards her doggy neighbors and was said to do well with dogs in the past. She would highly benefit from going to a basic obedience class to continue working on her manners. Stormi did have some gi stress on arrival at the shelter and has been started on medication which has helped! If you are interested in meeting Stormi and hopefully this time finding her that special forever home please give the shelter a call! 03/08/22 Stormi was surrendered to the shelter due to the previous owner no longer having the time to spend exercising and training a young dog. According to the previous owner Stormi is still working on house training, she has been learning to let you know when she needs to go by jumping and barking near the door. Stormi is said to be rough when playing, affectionate, outgoing and friendly. The previous owner also stated that Stormi is crate trained, rides well in the car, but will jump up on people, counters and jump fences. Stormi is still a puppy and will chew on things she shouldn't and will need continued obedience training and manners in her new home. Stormi has attended doggie daycare in her previous home and reportedly does well with dogs. She has been known to chase cats however and should also not be trusted with pocket pets or livestock. It is highly recommended that Stormi does not go to a home with cats or smaller critters based on her previous owner's experiences. The previous owner also stated that due to how rough Stormi can play, she would do best with older kids until she learns some manners. Stormi does like to meet new people and does well with strangers. Obedience classes would be highly beneficial to both Stormi and her new family to help her learn manners, bond with her new family, learn some obedience commands and how to properly greet people and dogs in a controlled environment.
