Stella's story

　　Spirited Stella is all smiles! And who can blame her? The onetime puppy mill breeding dog has been learning that life in the outside world can be beautiful - filled with soft beds, stuffed animals and balls, tasty treats and regular meals. But above all: LOVE. Starved for affection and acceptance, 60-pound Stella is soaking up both like a sponge and responding gratefully and generously. With her sweet disposition and kindly demeanor, she showers her foster family and their grandchildren with head nuzzles and kisses, cuddles with them on the couch and revels in having her belly rubbed. Curious - particularly about the wildlife in the backyard - and active, she loves going on walks and playing with her plush squeaky toys, taking rides in the car and lying in the sun. New to obedience, she now knows her "sit" command, is at work with her foster mom to learn more, and is honing her leash skills so that she pulls less and barks less at other dogs and passing cars. Now what sweet Stella needs is an affectionate and attentive home with children older than six to continue her training and confidence building in return for a love like no other.
