STAR's story
Star was returned to the shelter because she and the other dog in the home had gotten into a fight. Before the fight, both dogs had gotten along very well. No details were given about what may have caused the fight to occur. Her most recent owner stated that she does well with children and is indifferent with cats. She will sit by the door when she needs to go outside. Star likes to sleep on the bed or couch and she loves to cuddle! She has gained a significant amount of weight since her last visit at the shelter and would benefit from daily exercise. When she had originally been surrendered to the shelter in June 2018, we were told that she has separation anxiety and would need to be kept in a heavy duty crate as she was able to escape the standard plastic and wire crates. Star''s previous owner stated that she is an `Absolutely Amazing Dog`. She is hoping to find a loving home that will work with behavior imperfections that may reveal themselves as she adjusts to her new home. Mutual visits with other dogs in the household are suggested, and Star may do better with neutered male dogs rather than other females. Slow introductions to any other pups in the household are always recommended to help ease the transition.
