Well this dog has just about seen it all. Katrina is an 9 year old female spaniel mix. Katrina looks like a big woolly black sheep! She has a thick wavy coat with some white. Katrina is very over weight right now at about 50 pounds. She should be closer to around 35. Katrina was a temporary foster at our Dog Adoption Facility after the tornado. There, we discovered she was pregnant and gave birth to 3 puppies we found wonderful homes for and got her spayed. We also found out she was heartworm positive and we had her successfully treated for heartworms. So after all this, the owners were ready to take her back to their home. But, due to the health of one of the owners, Katrina was recently surrendered to our local shelter. No way were we going to let something happen to Katrina - she had become a favorite with all of the volunteers and not after all she had gone through! So we pulled her out and brought her back to the "Doghouse." Katrina is a very sweet, loving dog. She loves attention and loves to be with you. She is not very high energy and will make a great companion dog. Katrina is ok with other dogs but at this point in her life may prefer to be the only dog. Katrina should be fine with children and will require a fenced-in yard. She is used to being an outside dog but would rather be inside with you. She is crate trained. Katrina is up to date on her vet care, spayed and is heartworm negative. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Katrina deserves to live out the rest of her life in a loving, secure home.
