My story
Sophie (formerly known as Daphne) is a 2-year-old female Black Lab/Rottweiler mix who has already been spayed. She was originally turned in to PAHS as stray from out in the county and no one reclaimed her. Sophie was actually running with her 'brother', Shadow (formerly known as Apollo). She was injured but is doing great now! Sophie's medium length coat is black with brown markings mostly on her legs. She is a beautiful dog who weighs 61 pounds. Sophie is a very 'chill' dog who is calm and well behaved. She is friendly, loving, and gets along well with other dogs and children. Sophie is not good with cats. with cats. Sophie is well behaved and calm. She is a sweet dog and very trainable. Sophie is house trained, knows the commands--sit/ stay, down and come. We love this sweetheart! We would like to share with you something that the lady who originally found Shadow and Sophie sent us: 'There are no two dogs bonded like those two are. Sophie had been hit by a car and could barely stand. Shadow would clean her wound help her stand and gently push anyone's hand off of her when he thought they were causing her pain. The way he cared for her was like no other. Autauga County Sheriff Deputy/Animal Control took her to the Animal Medical Clinic where Dr. Trotter and her team helped treat her wounds and get her back on her feet. While the staff at the Prattville/Autauga Humane Society worked diligently with Apollo to keep his spirits up and cared for him while he waited to be reunited with his sister. With the amazing team work for weeks between, Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, Autauga County Sheriff's Office, and Animal Medical Clinic Shadow and Sophie have finally been happily reunited together and waiting on their 'furever' home.' Shadow and Sophie are both wonderful dogs; and they are both available for adoption at PAHS.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120 and cat/kitten adoption fees are $50. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative.
