Sophie 29770's story
Sophie is a 12-year-old female Shih Tzu mix. Her beautiful coat is light cream colored and as soft as can be. Sophie only weighs 5 pounds so she is a very tiny little girl. She came to the shelter because her elderly owner was moving to another state and into a living situation where he could not take Sophie. This was not an easy decision for him and he was very emotional about giving this adorable little girl up. We were broken hearted for him and for Sophie. We are looking for a special owner for Sophie; and for that reason we have indicated 'Special Needs' for Sophie. She is very quiet, calm, and well behaved. Sophie is already house trained. Since she is a senior dog and so small we would prefer she NOT be in a home with young children or other dogs. We would never want to place her in a home where she could be unintentionally injured. The PAHS staff is very protective of little Sophie and we want to make sure that she is adopted into a quiet home with a very loving owner. Sophie just wants to be held, cuddled, and curl up in a warm lap. We are going to require that she be an inside only dog. If you know of someone who needs a devoted, loyal, and loving little companion please direct them to consider being Sophie's new owner. Our little Sophie is very, very special to us and we want to make sure she goes to just the right home.
Dogs and puppies may be adopted for a fee of $120. All cats and kittens may be adopted for $50. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heartworm negative.
