  "Radio King" snare drum" 51/2" x 14" Large oval, stamped brass  badge - printed script - Chicago1949 -1950 - rare "Sparkling Gold" laminate over single ply shell with glued on head supports in very good condition - uniform aging - color is even all the way aroundnickel snare throw - Gene Krupa style #967 - works very welloriginal 19 strand snare wires in good conditiondouble muffler with excellent felt #1080original head hoops top  #851 - bottom #853 - light wear - straight lugs - 8 lugs -original nickel #547 - light pittingI bought this in December, 1966 and have had it ever since. Bought from the original Guitar Showcase on Bascom ave. and Jewel in San Jose, California from Bud Eastman. Written in grease pen on the inner shell is "RT" and the closest I can make out on the date is 9 - 9 - 50All single ply drums from the 30's thru the 50's are "Radio Kings". This was the first year of Gene Krupa models and the snares came in 7" x 14", and 8" x 14" as well.
