SKOSHI's story
Skoshi is a handsome, middle-aged German Shepherd who would love a home with no other animals. He was brought to the shelter after fighting with the other dogs in the household. Per the previous owner, Skoshi is shy with people, but warms up to those who spend the most time with him. He minds well, knows basic commands, and is housebroken.
While at the shelter Skoshi had his hips evaluated at a local vet; he was found to have moderate hip dysplasia and to be at least 15 pounds overweight. Skoshi is now on anti-inflammatory/pain medication, a joint supplement, and a weight loss formula diet! Skoshi would love to be your only man, but needs to go to a home that is dedicated to achieving his long-term weight loss and is willing to work with a veterinarian to manage his pain control and supplement needs as he gets older. The medications Skoshi needs to be comfortable can be expensive, so please ask an animal tender or your regular vet for more information on hip dysplasia if you are considering taking Skoshi home.
