Impressive sitting Ocelot by Favaro Cecchetto. This Ocelot stands 33 inches tall.
The Cecchetto family has a history of involvement in the ceramic arts that dates back to the 18th century. The studio of Favaro Cecchetto was established in the later half of the 1930's. His pottery was located in Bassano, not far from Venice. He specialized in figurines of the Art Nouveau style. This was a very small operation as the family's main concern was the production of machinery for the ceramics industry rather than the ceramics themselves. Favaro closed his studio and joined the firm of Ronzan in 1949 which changed the company name was to "Ceramiche Ronzan e Cecchetto". Favaro continued to create figurines into the 1950's but these all bear the Ronzan name.
