ACDR is a foster-home-based rescue. We do not have a shelter or facility you can visit. Please visit our website for more information about our organization and adoption process as well as the current status of our available dogs.
The first step to meeting any of our dogs is to submit an application. It in no way obligates you to adopt; it is simply part of our process. If the dog you are interested in is adopted before you can meet them or if we do not currently have a dog you are interested in, we still encourage you to go through the approval process. Then you will be pre-approved and ready to adopt when a dog does come along that you are interested in. Apply at
Sir William Thatcher, lovingly known as Thatcher the Wild Heart is a charming young man seeking a full time adventure. He is a high energy dog that will need a very active home to keep up with his need to run and his busy personality. Thatcher has an extremely sweet demeanor, has loved everyone he has met and if he isnt running wild in the forest he wants to be laying right on top of you for snuggles. He loves toys and is pretty good about knowing what is his to chew on, though if left unattended and not engaged he will get bored. He does well with other dogs, currently lives with another female Aussie Mix, and he only seems to get high strung when around other intact males and females. Thatcher is being crate trained and when given enough daily attention and exercise he does great. Thatcher is looking for a home that is committed to engaging his high spirited personality and training him to control his wild heart but perhaps not fully contain it. If you are looking for an adventure buddy, a velcro baby and a free spirited boy, then consider helping Thatcher change his stars.
Sir William Thatcher is housebroken, working on crate training and fully vetted. He is currently located in Flagstaff, AZ.
