My story
Ready to steal your heart!
Hey ho! My name is Silver, and I’m a neutered 2-year-old, 57-pound, Old English Sheepdog male.
I was part of the Doodle crew that was recently rescued, and my fur was so severely matted at the time that I needed to be shaved. But despite the horrific conditions that I had endured for so long, I have a glass-half-full mentality and am just the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet! I’m potty-trained, I walk/run well on a leash, and despite some possible skin allergies, my health is in tip-top shape!
I’m sweet, affectionate, and super cuddly! I still have a lot of puppy energy in me, and I love to run around at the dog park. I also enjoy going on car rides, tearing up paper towels, and squeezing into small dog beds. But, if nothing else – cuddling is my favorite! I love giving kisses and being pet, especially on my face and neck. Even though I absolutely love humans, I show no symptoms of separation anxiety.
Due to my ruff start to life, I can be wary of new things and experiences, but I typically adapt pretty quickly. I also can be selective of other dogs but am generally dog-friendly to those doggie friends I already know. I do show high prey drive, so a home that is cat free is a must for me.
My ideal home must have at least one other dog that can keep up with me! A quiet home with a solo couple would be ideal, or a small family that has older kids or teenagers. I’d also thrive with some additional training, especially when encountering new experiences. Other than that, I’m great when home alone and when I have my dog to keep me company.
Do we sound like a match? If so, let’s meet! If so, my adoption fee is $1000 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/. You can also find me @ SilverTheSheepdog on Instagram.
