　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　Please meet this beautiful young lady named Sky, a 2-year-old Siamese Tabby mix with blue-gray highlights. Sky's previous owners had her declawed, so she's lost her first and only line of defense. Sky is a little timid, which is to be expected with Siamese. But she is very calm and gentle! She's fine being held gently. She loves attention from people. She does well around other mellow, gentle cats, but would not do well around a dominant-aggressive cat. We do not recommend her around dogs mainly due to her being declawed - she cannot set boundaries when she feels threatened. 　　Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and receive immediate vet care upon intake before being available for adoption. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors or legal dependents. Read up on our adoption process .
