Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie - Marcus - Medium - Adult - Male - Dog

　　Marcus is a nine year old tri male sheltie who is just a doll. Marcus was given up by his owner along with Parker, his brother. Both were brought into rescue by ZsaZsas Sheltie Rescue in Oklahoma and we arranged transport to Arizona. What a pleasant and happy guy Marcus is. Unfortunately, he came to us grossly obese at a whopping 67 pounds. He could easily stand to lose 30 pounds. While he is dropping some pounds his weight will be a longer term project. Due to his reduced thyroid level we have him on thyroid supplements which along with watching his diet should help Marcus to lose the extra weight. The story we got was that Marcus (and Parkers) original owner (prior to the one that turned him over to rescue) made dog treats and Marcus and Parker were the testers. Marcus weight obviously hampers him although he does show interest in doing things, in short spurts. When others are playing around him, he will chime in with at least barks. At the foster home, Marcus has been the perfect gentleman and gotten along with the other dogs and cats. We think he would be fine with kids although he cant really be that active. We suspect that when the excess weight is gone this guy is just going to be a fun guy to be around. Other than the weight he seems in good health. He got a dental last year, is microchipped and current on all his shots.
