Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie - Bugsy - Small - Senior - Male - Dog
Bugsy is an eleven year old bi-blue male sheltie that was recently turned over to our rescue. His original owner died over a year ago and other family members apparently tried unsuccessfully to find anybody who would take in this senior. He came to us with some medical issues that had not been adequately addressed and including a thyroid problem and very poor teeth. The thyroid problem caused a very poor and scraggly coat which when combined with matting and burrs required that Bugsy be shaved. His head was not shaved though and everybody that sees Bugsy remarks that he has the cutest head. Just think what he will look like with the thyroid medicine and attention being given to the coat. While he spends a good portion of the day & resting; he can pick it up when he hears a strange sound or others are barking. So, he can pick it up and display some life. He would do well in a quieter and laid back household. He has been fine with the multiple other dogs in the household and displayed some interest in them.We think he would be fine with cats. Probably would also be fine with kids although not sure how much fun they would have with him. As he is more laid back he could be fine in a smaller home.
