My story
Crack the case on Sherlock!‘Ello! My name is Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes. I’m a 4-year-old, 18-pound, terrier mix. I’m already neutered and in tip-top health. Like my namesake, I’m a man of mystery. I was recently rescued from a rooftop in Tijuana with a group of detectives, ahem, I mean dogs. It was quite clear that we’d all been through some trauma, which has left me shy and nervous. I know that there’s a sweet boy underneath these layers and I can’t wait to find a patient person who can give me the love I’ve always longed for.Right now, my crate is my safe space. I’ll snuggle up for a nap with the door open as you go about your day. You can also find me sleuthing around in bushes or under the bed. Slowly but surely, my pawsonality is starting to come out as I get comfortable. I’ve been found hopping around and being playful! I hope that one day, once I learn that the world isn’t so scary, I’ll be playing with fetch with the best of them.Since I’m still adjusting, I’m suspicious of other doggos and usually go on the defensive. I haven’t met any cats or kids yet, so I’m not sure what I think about them. I take time to be comfortable getting pets, so I would need to be around older kids who understand that I’m still learning. For now, I would probably do best as the only pet in a mellow home so that I can gain confidence.I’ve mastered house training and never have accidents inside. That would be so… elementary! Due to my separation anxiety, I don’t like being left alone, so the more you’re around the better. I am a big fan of treats, so I’d love to keep training with you!Even though life hasn’t been easy for me, I’m ready to start building love and trust in a furever home! It will take some time, but all evidence points to me being a happy boy once I get the care that I’ve always deserved. Will you be the patient person who helps crack the code on Sherlock? I’ll keep my paws crossed! My adoption fee is $450 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/##1206190##
