Shepherd - Gabby - Medium - Young - Female - Dog

　　Here is some great info about Gabby from her foster mom: When Gabby came to live with me she was insecure and aloof. Usually, in fosters, I see the most progress in the first couple of months. But Miss Gabby, had to do it her way and the longer I have her the more she has changed. She is an affectionate girl and likes to stay near me when we are inside. She is crate trained (border collie size crate) and likes her crate, often spending time in it before bedtime. Until recently she had no interest in toys. Now she has a stuffed animal she carries around. Rawhides are a favorite as well as tennis balls. In the beginning she squabbled with other dogs including mine. Now she is fine even with dogs that are showing hackles. Her favorite buddy is a small schnauzer mix that stays with me when her owners travel. This summer, I had a 10 year old boy wanting to get over his fear of dogs. I worked with him using Gabby. She would gently take treats from him and would sit on command. He preferred Gabby to my others because of her slightly reserved manner. Gabby likes everyone she meets. She likes men & women but is more responsive to commands from a man. Gabby needs to be outside during the day. A securely fenced-in back yard is a must. She has too much energy to be in a crate during the day as well as at night. She is treat and toy possessive, and for that reason I am going to suggest that she will probably do best as an only dog. Gabby is not afraid of anything. This summer she jumped across the water to get in a pontoon boat with me. And later in the year she jumped into the seat of a ultra light floating on my beach. She has a short freckled very soft white coat and a tail that is always waving over her back. She is housebroken and up to date on all of her yearly injections. She is heart worm negative.
