Precious Flo is enjoying her fresh start and would love to continue to thrive in a new home! This beautiful redhead is Flo, a one year old female Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix. She has a beautiful golden red thick coat but it will not be long, more like a shepherd coat. But she has the head and stand-up ears like a shepherd. Flo is a good size dog and will get to be around 50 pounds.Poor Flo was found by one of our volunteers. She had been hanging around her neighborhood out in the country and was just literally skin and bones. She weighed only 27 pounds on her large frame (Photo #3 was taken right after she was rescued). Of course, no one claimed they knew anything about her so we took her on. Flo is so sweet and loving. She is playful and loves attention. Flo is doing well with other dogs and should be fine with children, 8 and older just due to her size. We have started her crate training. Flo is up to date on her vet care, spayed, and is heartworm negative. Flo is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She has already put on 7 pounds in just the two weeks we have had her so she is well on the road to recovery (see Photos #1 and #2 to see how well she is doing!). It just amazes us that she is such a good dog and shows no ill will towards humans who did not treat her well early in life. A true testament to the loving nature of dogs, no matter what!
