Meet our special boy Sheldon! Sheldon is an 8 year old, 13 lb Shih Tzu mix with a g o rgeous chocolate brown coat. Little Sheldon was surrendered to the Humane Society because his owners could not afford to care for him. He was surrendered with a badly mated coat & both eyes severely infected & they both had to be removed. Sheldon is adjusting to being blind with an amazing foster mom that will take him out on "walks" - she carries him in a carrier & finds a nice safe grassy place for him to stroll & follow his big foster brother's lead. He is starting to respond to sounds & is learning commands from his foster mom- they work nightly with yummy treats as his reward! He loves his squeaky toys and is a sleepy, snuggly little guy. He still gets a little disoriented and will cry out when he feels lost, but calms down quickly once he is comforted by his foster mom or his sweet foster brother. Sheldon is a low energy, mellow dog. He seems to be house trained, but being special needs he would need to learn the layout & schedule of a new home to get into his routine. His ideal home would be with someone who is a home often and wants a little buddy to keep them company and love them unconditionally. Sheldon's adoption fee is $150.
All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog.
