My story
Hi! I'm Shelby! I'm a 13 year old Snowshoe gal with a lot of personality! I've had a rough go the last several months, and I would love a quiet forever home where I can snuggle with you and talk your ear off all day. It all started when my original owner died. I had nowhere to go, so Animal Friends Alliance stepped in. I had terrible dental disease, which had resulted in the front part of my jaw getting so infected that it broke. When I had my dental procedure, x-rays revealed the fracture, and the infected section was removed and a wire placed to stabilize my jaw. I have spent the last 8 weeks recovering with my foster family. I can now eat both wet and dry food, and I love treats! Tuna and seafood flavors are my favorite. I'm extremely chatty, and I love to snuggle. Although my blood work still looks good, we suspect I have early kidney disease, as I drink a lot of water and urinate a lot, so I need a home with a family who is willing to keep a close eye on my blood work moving forward, and who will be willing to feed me a kidney diet if needed. My first family declawed me, so I would prefer soft litter for my sensitive feet. Although I have spent the last 8 weeks in a foster home with other cats, a mellow dog, and a not-so-mellow toddler, I have yet to warm up to any of them. I am very afraid of other cats and dogs. I will hiss, yowl, growl, and hide if I can. I tolerate the toddler but frankly I don't like her and hiss at her a lot. For these reasons, I am really hoping for a home without other dogs or cats, and older children who understand that I'm sensitive to loud noises and sudden crazy movements. Maybe you work from home or have an introverted preteen who needs a friend? Maybe you lost a furry friend and need someone to snuggle into the hole in your heart they left behind? If so, that's me. Please come visit me and see if we make a good fit. I am a doll and I deserve a second chance at a wonderful life.
