My story

　　Meet Shelby, a big and beautiful girl with an indomitable spirit, currently residing at the APL, an animal shelter in Springfield, IL. At a little over 9 years old, Shelby has embarked on a new chapter in her life after spending the first 9 years with two different loving owners. Recently, Shelby was returned to the shelter, as both owners cherished her deeply but had their own health challenges to face. Shelby is blind and deaf but is able to get around different places and is very smart! Always up for an adventure, Shelby loves to explore her surroundings, relishing in the discovery of new best friends wherever she goes. Her gentle and amiable nature make her an instant hit. Shelby is (a little) overweight but has already started to lose some lbs since her arrival at the shelter. She thrives in the company of cats, dogs, and children, embodying the true spirit of a loyal and sociable companion.
