Shar Pei - Cozumel - Large - Young - Female - Dog

　　Meet Cozumel! She is a very special two year old Shar Pei Pit-bull mix girl who has never lost hope, no matter how many times the people around her let her down. Cozumel was found wandering by a very nice family, they knew someone had to be missing her as she had a silver collar, and sparkling hot pink toenails so they put up signs and waited over a week, but Cozumel?s owners never called. It made their hearts very sad to take Cozumel to county, as she had been a perfect house guest. She got along with their dog and cat and she even liked the kids! Cozumel waited four months for her people to come. She sat, trembling in fear, unable to muster up the courage to approach the front of the kennel when people walked by. Thank goodness for a kind volunteer, who sat with Cozumel and encouraged her to come out to a yard to play. As the months passed Cozumel learned that every volunteer loved her and would treat her with kindness and in return she greeted them with tail wags and a big smile each day. As time dragged on she became frustrated with a male staff member, maybe he reminded her of someone who hurt her long ago, whatever the reason she felt unsafe with him and would bark and growl when he approached her kennel. Cozumel?s time was coming to a close at the county pound; she was seen as unsafe with her barking and growling and was scheduled to be euthanized. On what was scheduled as her last day on earth, Lost Paws stepped in, unwilling to let her leave this world prematurely. They saw all the love and hope in her eyes and knew she was the true definition of a ?Lost Paw?. Forgotten and alone no longer, Cozumel is looking for her forever home. Cozumel is an observant, cautious girl at first but give her a few minutes and you will see what every county volunteer saw- a smile so big it can light up a room, and soulful eyes that express so much gratitude and love, and lots of KISSES!
