My story

　　07/24/21 15:53 Shadow is a shy but affectionate Siberian who is looking for a new loving home. Shadow was surrendered with his pal Stella and they have been together their whole lives and are hoping to find a home together if possible. Shadow and Stella were surrendered because their owners are getting a divorce and can not take care of them any longer. Shadow and Stella can be aggressive and dominate smaller animals and even attacked and bit a small dog in the past. Due to this we are requiring they go to a home with no small dogs. The previous owner stated that this incident was when the dogs were left unsupervised and says that when they are supervised they are very easy to manage. Shadow and Stella are said not to do well initially with other dogs, but will warm up with time. Shadow and Stella lived with a cat in the home previously and did just fine for the past 8 years, but due to Shadow's high prey drive we are requiring he go to a home without cats. The previous owner said these two do not do well with pocket pets and we are requiring they go to a home without pocket pets as well. We recommend taking caution introducing any other dogs to Shadow. Shadow has lived inside his whole life and is housebroken. When he needs to potty he will either go to the door, sit next to you and stare or start barking. Shadow rides well in a car and generally minds well when supervised. When unsupervised Shadow tends to get into garbage. Shadow knows some basic commands likes sit, stay, laydown, and speak, but also has some naughty habits like jumping on people. He is said to do well with adults, but can be rough with children and will need supervision with children. Due to this behavior we are requiring Shadow go to a home without children under 5 years old. He is good with strangers after getting to know them a bit, so he doesn't get surprised or spooked. Shadow and Stella cry and get nervous when they are separated and are hoping to find a home together, if you think that's you then please give the shelter a call.
