Meet Scout! Scout is all you would expect with a Yorkie. He can be described as small (6 pounds), cute, dainty and portable. He is about 8 years old with a beautiful tan and silver silky coat that will need regular grooming to keep him looking spiffy. Scout is feisty, active, agile, and fearless, but since he is an adult dog, he is also happy sitting or sleeping near you. He likes his people and shows some signs of anxiety when left alone. He would prefer a home where he isnt left alone very often or for very long, and in a home with adults and older children. He is potty-trained to go outside. He isnt crate trained but could learn. Scout prefers to spend the night on the bed with you or right beside you on the floor in his own bed. He loves to ride in the car and go exploring. He is fine on a leash wearing a halter, especially after he has gotten his wiggles out. He is fine with meeting new people, but is reactive to other animals, especially bigger dogs. Once he has been introduced, he seems to do fine. Scout might be better if there are no cats in the house, but it isnt absolute. He can be a tenacious terrier. Scout has only one tooth, but has no problems eating his meals. He is food motivated and knows how to sit. He also has a weak trachea, common in small breeds, and he will need a halter, not collar, for leashed walks. Scout will be a lovable, funny, and wonderful companion to his new fur-ever family. Scout is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $250 which helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.
