My story
Scotty is a 2(ish) year old, 45lb Schnauzer/Wheaten mix. Thats our best guess. Scotty was dumped at a high kill shelter in Kansas. The shelter he was dumped at has almost zero foot traffic, so his future was looking very grim. We knew that Scotty would find an amazing home here in CO.Scotty is the the cutest bear looking dog. He has a huge personality and a lot of energy. He does love to play with 95% of dogs, but the introduction has to be handled properly. He loves to go on walks and hikes with his foster mom and snuggle up on the couch during down time. He is a great dog and needs someone with an active lifestyle so he can be the best adventure buddy! When Scotty first came in he was pretty wary of most people, but since his time here he has really come out of his shell and is such a great dog. We have spent a lot of time training Scotty as well with our professional trainer, who will be available for whoever adopt him. He is very strong willed but once he understands what is being asked of him he gets it immediately. Scotty loves women, but sometimes it takes him a little time to warm up to men. He DOES warm up, it just takes time. Poor guy had probably been through so much before coming to CO. While he is a low-non shedder and will need regular grooming appointments he is not a hypoallergenic or non-shedding dog so would not be a good match for someone with allergies! If you are interested in adopting Scotty, please fill out our application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com
