My story

　　Schmidt happens!

　　Hey hey! My name is Schmidt, and I am a 4.5 year old, neutered, male Lab mix, weighing about 64 lbs. I was hanging out in TJ, and I was rescued by TAP along with my 'New Girl' crew. I have landed at a wonderful foster home in San Diego, and I daresay, it's better than an LA loft! I had a family when I got adopted from TAP a year ago but it didn't work out as I was being neglected and I came back with so much discomfort on my ears and skin. TAP was where I relaxed finally after being treated poorly, and now at my foster home. My mama is teaching me good house manners and I have already mastered bathroom training and leash walking. I am fully crate trained. You may notice that I have a clumsy gait and I look like I am dancing to some music in my head. I am a distemper survivor that has left me a tic, which doesn't slow me down at all! I have some arthritis, which is managed by taking Dasuquin Chews,~$49.00 for 3 month supply and Gabapentin, monthly cost is ~$10.00 depending on where purchased and market value.

　　Like my namesake, I do run the 'loft' at my foster home! I am a playful chappie and I love rolling about with my ball. I particularly enjoy pets and snuggles when all tuckered out. I am quite friendly with all the people I meet. Belly up, chin scratchies and cuddles are what I thrive with. Regarding dogs, I can be a bit guarded and would prefer to be as an only dog. I don't like big dogs running up to me, but I am ok with calm small dogs at an appropriate distance. With kids, I am a good boy! I lived with foster cat siblings and was good! Life with me is going to be a big chuckle and my clumsiness will make you fall in love with me! But I can run and be a fabulous jogging companion!

　　I hope I find my Cece soon enough! I know that I deserve the world and that my forever family is right around the corner. I will do best with someone who is willing to put in an effort to train me with love and patience. I am a happy, fun, but relaxed, boy in the house and will love a yard for zoomies and going on long walks! My twitch doesn't stop my activeness at all! So, just knock on the door and be mine forever!
