How do you do, Im Sayla. And Im no spring chicken, but Im betting some of you out there arent either. My wonderful M.A.I.N. foster Mom thinks Im about twelve, so Im just getting into my senior years. Im a Yorkshire terrier so Im pretty small and us shrimps tend to have a long life span. So how did I end up here in foster you may be wondering? Well I was found pretty far away from Phoenix and ended up in a shelter. Caught the 8:30 rescue van from Yuma (yes, really there is a rescue van), a lovely volunteer swooped me up when we arrived in the big city and got me right to the Vet, where I stayed overnight. Next day, met my beloved foster and here Ive been ever since. So to tell you a little bit about myself
you know Im not young, so just think of me as a quiet, sweet, old lady (kind of like your granny). I get around really well but love my little bed for frequent naps. I am not an attention seeker, unless Im hungry or have to go out to potty. Dont worry, I will let you know by giving you a gentle nudge with my teensy, tiny paws. Im not perfect, far from it. I had kidney stones, which the wonderful M.A.I.N. family had removed, but I have to be monitored and I need special food (but Im really little so I dont eat that much plus its gotta be wet food, cause my teeth are pretty much non-existent). Did I mention my hearing has gone to hell? Yep, deaf as a stone, but that happens to a lot of us seniors
you just have to have a sense of humor about it and learn to guide me with some hand signals.
So what Im looking for is a family like me. Older, not tooooo energetic and content with each others company. I can see us growing older together into our sunset years and loving our quiet life even if we miss running marathons. Life goes on and we cant stop time, but we certainly can enjoy our golden years (Mahjong anyone?). Im looking for a home I can call my own, could that be yours? I sure hope so. -- Sayla
