Spy & Lapis's puppies were born on July 19, 2023.
Inquiring minds can read all about Lapis on my page but in a nutshell, she is a lovely dog. She loves nothing quite as much as hunting but she’s very safe with small animals in the home and has a perfectly reliable recall, even calling off live courses. She’s dabbled in barn hunt and conformation, training in agility, and may compete in rally or OB one day. She loves tricks and is really fun to work with! She has more food drive than toy drive but she does enjoy toys too. Around the house, she is the picture of an ideal companion. She’s not pushy or needy, loves to snuggle up with you and relax, and is just so easy to live with. She’s fantastic with other dogs, all sorts of people, even children. I really want to get her into therapy work! She’s been trained to a very high level for public access and I think she would really enjoy it. She’s a small girl, weighing just 26lbs.
The sire I chose for this litter is named Spy. He is 6 years old, a conformation champion but hasn’t had access to any other sports to try. He’s been to lure coursing practice and showed a lot of potential! He’s owned by a long time Whippet enthusiast. Spy’s littermate brother has been successful in lure coursing, straight racing, and dock diving.
When I met Spy, he was very human oriented and loved to climb into your lap for pets. He’s pushier than Lapis tends to be, more forward and in your business. He has nice drive and enthusiasm! He is a super stable boy, friendly with people and dogs, easy to handle and a pleasure to live with. He’s a medium sized dog; conditioned he would probably be about 36lbs. He has one previous litter of gorgeous dogs with stellar temperaments.
