This big handsome yellow Lab is 3.5-year-old Sammy.
He has lived outside 24/7 for the past year, a good part of it chained to a shed. Sammy, who weighs about 100 pounds, came to this fate after his family had some difficulties and left him with someone not really committed to caring for him. Before being banished to the outdoors, this pup knew some commands -- including shake -- and was house trained. Unpracticed, these skills are all likely rusty and will need to be revisited in his new home. Sammy lived with older children at one time, enjoys car rides and is very strong on the leash. Hes good with other dogs; no cats.
Hes a boy whos done whatever he wants outside for the past year. His new family needs to consist of kind, patient and experienced Lab owners who are both committed to and have the time to provide Sammy with much needed leadership and structure. Daily exercise and positive-oriented training are musts as well.
Well, sighs Sammy, I guess my sabbatical is over. Time to get to work on learning to be a really good boy with you showing me the way! Woof!
We are eager to get Sammy to us, indoors and on to a well loved life!
