My story

　　Sam’s Your Man!Hi, there! My name is Sam. I’m a senior sweetie who is looking for a furever companion. I’m a 15-year-old, 47-pound terrier mix. I have a kidney issue that requires special dog food (which I absolutely adore!). I get ear infections, but it’s nothing a few drops can’t handle. Otherwise, I’m a neutered, healthy fella. I found myself in sunny San Diego after being on the streets of Tijuana. Although I’m no longer a pup, I still have plenty of life and love in me! I can’t wait to find a furever hooman to spend it with.I’m a family man who is loyal to his people through and through. It takes me a little time to adjust, but once I know you're my pal, I’ll be your best friend for life. I don’t have much exposure to kids, but think I’d be best around teenagers. I am a bit unpredictable around other dogs and am not a fan of cats.What I am a big fan of is my squeaky toys! I can keep myself entertained for hours and I’m learning how to fetch, too. I’m a very smart boy (who despite all stereotypes) is learning new tricks! I sit for my food and I’m a good listener. What I love absolutely the most is snuggling on the couch with my person. I’m a loving boy with a big heart!I’m a triple threat when it comes to training. I’ve mastered house, bathroom, and leash training! I never bark inside and I’m always respectful of your things. I get very excited for walk time and jump around like a puppy! When I first arrived in my new home, I had a bit of mild anxiety and needed to learn to trust my people. I didn’t even like to go on walks in the beginning, but I’m a new dog now! It might take me a little bit to adjust to my furever home, but I can’t wait to see how I’ll continue to grow!I would love to be in a mellow home where I can be the star of the show (no other pets or little kids). A couple of walks, some squeaky toys, and of course, some cuddles are all I need! If you’re looking for someone who can be your loyal companion… Sam is your man!
