My story

　　Our sweet boy Sam here came to us under heartbreaking circumstances. The only family he ever knew was a sweet gentleman who passed away. Sam was discovered when county folks came to collect that gentleman, and he was brought in to us. Sam appears to be in absolutely beautiful shape, albeit overweight. It is clear this boy was loved and cherished by his person. Confused, heartbroken, and stressed beyond belief, Sam is having a very hard time here at the shelter. We have given him all of the privacy and comfort that we can, but Sam is still not ready to open up and does not want to be touched yet. With next of kin being clear across the country, Sam is in need of a kind soul to scoop him up and give him a chance to adjust and prepare for another wonderful person to love him. We estimate Sam to be about 20 pounds, and the vet his person used to take him to stated that he is neutered and roughly 7 years old.
