Sam's story

　　When we see a dog actually blossom during their time at the shelter, I always wonder what their life must have been like. Is this the best they've ever had it? Or maybe they had a great home, and are finally settling down from the confusion of being in the shelter. Whatever the case may be, Sam is one of those dogs that has blossomed during his almost two months in the shelter. His initial notes read as a fearful, unsure dog. And while it's true that Sam takes a bit to warm up initially- it doesn't take him long before he's showing you his super cute personality!

　　It seems Sam had a home before. He knows "sit," "paw" and "down" already and walks great on the leash. He also loves to play fetch and will actually bring the ball back for you to throw each time. Once he's used to you, he's super friendly and loves attention and pets. This guy has it all- smarts, playfulness and sweetness! Sam did okay during his dog eval- he was a little nervous around some dogs, but settled in with time. If you have a dog at home already, bring them in for an intro!

　　You can visit 3 yr old Sam at the MCAC West shelter at 2500 S. 27th Ave., Phx. Hours are 11-6 Mon-Fri and 11-5 Sat & Sun. Sam's $25 adoption fee includes neuter, rabies certificate and County license.
