My story
Sake has a unique spirit and an authentic autonomy that, once accepted by her people, opens up the universe to a rich life together. Sake at times can have a hand aversion so petting her is something that is accessed through trust and patience; her foster is working on this and she is getting more trusting. It has been found best to offer a hand and let her decide what kind of mood she's in. If she sniffs then goes in for a rub then you can bask in the mutual comfort of that moment. If she sniffs and turns, that's a do not touch signal. She normally sleeps on the sofa on a favorite blanket. She does not seem to be very adept at jumping up or down and often pulls herself up onto things. She isn't interested in the cat tree, and she's not really interested in looking out the windows. Sake loves her spring toys and will go wild chasing them all over the house. She enjoys a game of back and forth with it and her person, sort of like catch. Sake also dabbles in the hobby of catnip toy activities.
Sake needs an experienced cat person who has the sturdy and self-aware ability to live with a cat who needs to do life on her terms and those terms are subject to change. It is rewarding to honor, respect and love another without the pressured expectations we so often project onto those closest to us. Allow a beautiful dance to unfold in time, and a life with Sake will bring you a new perspective on love. Sake will do best in a quiet home with no children.
Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped.
